Parent Information Center Update March 31, 2020
The Parent Information Center has been closed at the direction of the Governor and the Superintendent since March 17, 2020.  It will remain closed until such time as it is deemed safe to open again.  The forced closing came at an inopportune time as we had just begun Pre-Registration for the 2020-2021 School Year. We will resume the Pre-Registration process once we have opened again and everyone will be placed for next school year as quickly as possible.  If you should have any questions, please contact Parent Information Center Director, David Hegan at
A Note Regarding Our Buildings During School Closure
While the school buildings are currently closed, and will remain closed until at least April 7th, 2020, LPS understands that our families may still need assistance with housing stability during this uncertain time. If you are experiencing a housing crisis or homelessness during the school closures, please contact our Homeless Liaison, Tracey Scherrer by sending an e-mail to or leave a voicemail at 781-477-7220 ext. 3207. Please leave your name, phone number, and a brief message explaining your situation and need. (Spanish-speaking families will receive communication back from Johanny Castillo, the Parent Information Center Parent Coordinator.)
Staying Connected During the Coronavirus Situation
As the country deals with the effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Comcast is taking immediate steps to help connect more low-income families to the Internet at home. Effective Monday, March 16, 2020, new Internet Essentials customers will receive two free months of Internet service. We are also increasing the speed of the program to 25 Mbps downloads, and 3 Mbps uploads for all new and existing customers. After your first two free months expire, you can either cancel the service (which you can do at any time) or keep it as a regular paying Internet Essentials customer. You will receive an easy to use self-install-kit that includes a cable modem (to receive service at your home) with a WiFi router (to connect your devices without wires). There is no term contract or credit check and no shipping fee for equipment.

Translation Icon Lynn Public Schools recognizes that communication and partnership with parents and guardians is vital for the educational success of students. We are committed to provide quality and professional translation (written) and interpretation (oral) services to families so that they can have an active role in their children’s education.

To enable effective communication with Limited English Proficient parents and guardians, interpretation and translation services are available at no cost to parents and guardians. A parent or guardian does not have to be of limited English proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and comprehending English to be eligible for interpretations or translation, but rather, it is only necessary that a parent or guardian be limited in at least one of these areas to receive services.

To request an interpreter of a spoken language or translation of a school department document, please contact the main office at your child’s school. You may also contact Family Engagement and Translation Services at (781) 477-7220 Extension 3360.
